Travel Guide - Mausoleum of General Yue Fei

Have you heard about Yue Fei? He came from Tangyin in Xiangzhou of today's Henan Province affordable China tours , which was a great general famous for wars against the Jin Dynasty (1115 - 1234) in the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279). During the history, the Mausoleum of General Yue Fei has been destoryed and renovated several times. The existing one was rebuilt in 1715 in the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) and comprehensively repaired in 1979. It is what we saw today.


Covering an area of four acres, theChina travel service Mausoleum of General Yue Fei is located at the southern foot of Qixia Hill near the West Lake. If you enter the gate with double eaves, a patio with towering trees on both sides will be found. The Shrine of Remembrance, the main hall, is right in the center. There is a sculpture of general Yue setting in the middle of the hall. He is in a colorful embroidered round cushion cover. You can find he is solemn and mighty in appearance. He has a sword in his hand and looks as if he is ready to protect his country at anytime. Over the sculpture you can find a tablet in the original handwriting of Yue Fei, which states returning our territory and keeping it integrated. It is large pictures depicting Yue Fei's life stories that at the back of the hall. On the floor of the hall is a picture depicting 373 cranes. According to these cranes, we can feel his integrity and faithful mind.


Passing the west of the main hall China shopping, you will find a yard, which is made up of two corridors exhibiting poems written to commend Yue Fei. Not only Yue Fei, but also his son’s tomb was put here. Yue Fei's tomb is right in the center, and to its left is the tomb of his son Yue Yun who had been a competent assistant of his father on the battlefields. Moreover, you can find stone horses, tigers, and sheep of the Ming Dynasty (1386 - 1644) decorated both sides of the enclosure here. This tomb was rebuilt and possesses the features of the Song Dynasty during the long history. There are four iron sculptures facing the tomb, including Qin Kuai the chief plotter, in kneeling position. The purpose of making these sculptures is to atone for their crime forever.
