Must-see for Fujian travel - Mt. Wuyishan

Mt. Wuyishan is in the south of Wuyishan City, northwest of Fujian Province, and it is adjacent to Jiangxi Province last minute China travel deals. With an area of nearly 1000 square kilometers, it was recognized as World Natural Heritage and Cultural Heritage in 1999. It is the World Heritage with the largest area in China.

Main Composition

Mt. Wuyishan is the typical Danxia landform. Cultural Relics

Mt. Wuyishan is famous also because it is the birthplace of Neo-Confucianism. Confucius was the founder of Confucianism, and Zhu Xi (1130-1200) of Southern Song Dynasty completed the Confucianism system. Zhu Xi built Zhuzi's Neo-Confucianism that had a far-reaching influence to China feudal thought. Now Mt. Wuyishan Public China Holidays preserves the school named as Wuyijinshe that Zhu Xi preached his theory.

Huanggang Mountain

As the main peak of the Mt. Wuyishan, the altitude of Huanggang Mountain is 2,160 meters, which is the highest peak in Southeast of China and keeps the most complete forest biology system in middle subtropical zone. The top of Huanggang Mountain is the core part in Mt. Wuyishan natural reserve. As the particularity of Mt. Wuyishan natural reserve, it is open to the public incompletely.

Jiuquxi River Scenery

Jiuquxi River originates from Huanggang Mountain, the main peak of Mt. Wuyishan natural reserve. Apart from a length of river bending naturally, the most part of river is controlled by breaking of rocks, which is only five kilometers long in linear distance from 9.5 kilometers long. Jiuquxi River is crystal, and it meanders from west to east. Sitting on a bamboo raft (with history of thousand years as a river crossing tool) drifting on the river and appreciating grotesque rocks, blue sky, green trees and white cloud, how beautiful scenery.

Dahongpao Scenery

Dahongpao scenic area is in the famous valley “Nine Dragon Nest”, that is a long and deep valley stretching from east to west. There are nine towering steep peaks opposite the south and north sides shaping like nine dragons squatting. Besides, there are many natural spots like Nine Dragon Cave, Nine Dragon Pool, Nine Dragon Waterfall and ancient cliff inscriptions and so on.

The world famous Dahongpao Tea (Wuyi Mountain Rock Tea) grows at the bottom of “Nine Dragon Nest”. There are six ancient tea trees growing on the north side of the cliff Shopping in China, which have history of 340 years. The tea (tea leaves from these six trees)’s color and flavor is top in oolong tea, so it is praised as “King of Tea”.
